Sorry Chaunceyskis, I couldn't wait to make the thread.

Post up videos of your favorite pros killing it, pics of some sick spots in your town, or videos of you landing a new trick, ask about tricks, give advice on tricks, discuss/review skates, and discuss the latest news in the world of aggressive skating!

Eventually, we could even use this thread for buying, selling, and trading parts or full skates.



First off, what are your thoughts on the beginning of powerblading? Kizer has just brought the concept into play in the aggressive rollerblading game with their new frames able to hold 4 80mm wheels while still allowing soul and negative plate grinds. Check the fourth and fifth edit for some powerblading shots.

Second, there is a lot of good advice on what type of skates suit you in this thread, as well as where to buy full skates/parts,(https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/615627/), all courtesy of a_pla5tic_bag

okay. Your talking wheels so any thing with a durometer or hardness above 90 is good. after like 96 the wheel will lose some traction. as far as drops and gaps go. hard the better I guess. I'm More into park skating and not so much into street.

don't afterbang your landings on gaps and bend your knees and you should be ok. also if you're running anti's that might be it. they're kinda loud.

this is pretty accurate, but when your ordering skate i recommend calling the shop up(if you dont have the chance to try em on) and asking how certain skates fit.

Yeah, I think thats it Some other guys on here might know better than i do, but I've seen a lot of pros skating antirocker setups without antirockers in, which would definetely make the drop noise minimal Also, the guide to skate sizing that was just posted is true, I used it to buy my skates and it worked

i think i'm grabbing some eulogy chris haffeys and all this talk of softer wheels has got me thinking about picking up a set of powerblading frames
would i be able to slap those things on my razors?

From what i can tell, yeah. Check out kizer frames, they make the best (and I think the only) powerblading frames at the moment, and they had details about sizing on their site

check your frame bolts. your frame bolts may have come loose and when you land that cracking sound is the space between your frame and your boot crashing together.

as for the impact, bend your knees a lot. ive only dropped like 4 stairs at max but i instantly could tell the landings arent at all like skiing. you really have to bend your knees and the way you take the impact is so much different from anything else. thats why thyre pros though, because tbeyve mastered it

yea like the people below said it all depends on the company just like ski boots, like for example I wear a size 10 shoe but i ride some really old valo tv*s bailey gave me that are size 8 with a size 10 liner. I have about 1.5cm space when the liners not in the shell. This is just to show you how sizes can very a lot, actual size 10 skates for me pack out and get too loose for my comfort but then again the only skates ive ever ridden are valo and roces which are just skinny valos.

 Go to the skatepark or shop  and try on different skates, there are several styles of boots and skate systems that you might prefer one to another

I realized that the reason i was having issues skating last year was because I was grinding switch the whole time. But my best trick is probably switch porn to 180 out or torque or whatever a backslide on skis is called to either 2 out

What's a good pair of beginner skates? Right now I have some really old Xsjado ones that look like snowboard bindings and I have to wear my shoes in them. I want the kind where you don't need shoes

question: I have some Razors Yuri Botelho skates and the only thing I really dislike about theme is that the laces break really fast, and I don't know where to find new ones that will hold fore a little while, I bought some normal laces to shoes and they broke the first time I used theme. So I was wondering if this is a normal problem with all Razors skates?

I haven't had any problems with that. I saw a dude with leather laces the other day at the park and I thought that was a great ideA. But maybe your eyelets on your skates r just gnarly sharp or something

they are a beginner skate, and a pretty good one at that, I use them and know quite a few people who have and like them. but they come with pretty bad frames and wheels so maybe that could be part of the problem.

if you are going to be skating street DONT get soft wheels. One bad landing on a gap and you will chunk a wheel sooo fast. No offense to anyone who has tried to help you out before but i skate almost exclusively street and have a ton of experience. Im a huge fan of eulogy's and would reccomend looking at the 2011 Rowe's. Not as hard as some wheels but a good wheel that still is fairly soft and will help you learn gaps and drops

i have the razor genesys 7.3 and i love them... they fit true to size by the way (aka if you wear a size 10 shoe, get a size 10 pair of skates, this goes for all Razor skates)

i wouldn't get "soft" wheels anyway. I never really noticed substantial differences in wheels of different hardness. The only bad experience I ever had with wheels was some stock USD ones that I had lying around which I used up when i needed new wheels. Those chunked hardcore. i was on senates, then 4x4's, mindgames for awhile, then switched to eulogy when mindgame disappeared.

Eulogy has a new wheel coming out soon, if you see people skating fluoro green wheels those are the protos.
