Building a Drop-In for a Backyard Setup

Okay so in the midwest we just got a ton of snow, so my neighbor and i decided to make a backyard setup. Our only problem was our drop-in which kept breaking and we had to rebuild it over and over. So any suggestions for making a good one? Even directions on how to build a wood drop in?

Get a truck/minivan/SUV. Go to warehouse district of your city. Pick up a shit ton of pallets. Bring them home, pile em up, and throw snow on it. Done.
