yea no dice in my opinion
but dont take that as a bad thing, keep at it you're only going to get better. And in time you'll know what works and what doesn't.
here are a few things iv learnt over time:
1.don't put too much slow mo
2. never use an effect more than once (unless its 100% yours/unique and or works with a theme of some sort)
3.don't use after effects tutorials in your work
4.Color correcting should be something very light
5. keep edits under 3 minutes to avoid having filler shots (exception apply)
plenty more but i'll let you learn them for yourself.
Good luck and keep at it man, keep givin'er with your friends and preserving those memories.
The value of personal videos cannot be judged at the present time...give it ten years and i gurantee everything you made around now will be 1000x more precious and memorable.
