the only thing you can do is vote. unless you want to run for president and change the country to your likings, because I guarantee there are people out there who would hate it. so just do what you can, and vote, or support your candidate at rallies or meetings. but if you really dislike this country that much, maybe you should get out. and if not forever, for a little while, because every country has problems, and i think if you went to live somewhere else, you would realize it.

i never said that others didnt, but not as much atleast for the problems i care about. I once again refer you to what ice is scarry said. i have criticzams and the fact is that becuase of free speech there shoudl be no problem with that. and that is right, i said that mabey we could make america a better place but if not, (if it takes to long for people to realize what will eventually happen to our country at this rate) then i will give up and move somwere that i would rather be. Basically i dont give a shit where i am, as long as it is the best place i think i can be. Right now i beleve the best place i can be is america for much more then one reason, however, mostlikley if Bush is relected, i already have plannes to go to canada for college

you're mad about paying a little bit of money to the country that allows you to make ALL of your money. does the gov not control your ever action?
they have your phone tapped right now and can listen in to any convo they want.
its all legal now

you have to ask the gov to do anything anymore, maybe the gov should come wipe my ass since i dont think i can move my arm that way anymore.

maybe the gov shouls stop taking all my money and blowing it on painting the bride here in ohio. do i care if the top of the bride has some paint missing? NO. is it work the 100's of thoushands of dollars to spend on workers and other equipment just to paint something so it looks nice? why should my paycheck be cut almost 600 every month to paint a bridge i dont give 2 shits about. they roads are horrible and we are painting bridges like no tomorrow.

why is their soo much pointless shit around the cities trying to make them LOOK nice. man i dont care about how pretty the flowers are, i want my roads nice and my money in my pocket.

this world is coming to a point where looks are more important than healt. and their is something wrong with that.

but everyone all so caught up in beliveing what the gov has to say, MUST BE RIGHT, that noone cares to do anything about it.

all im saying is i cant wait till our generation is in office. you will see how much if a change we go though and many laws are revoked. im personally cant wait untill all these old fucks rest in their graves so the new generation can take over.

yeah about the city thing... why does a brige have to have fresh paint every 2 years. i dont think anyone can see the top really so does it matter? NO.

the gov is always talking about hunger and homeless people well why not spend the money on making everything look so pretty on some humans?

it doesnt matter if the city has nice flowers, so it looks nice, people are dieing of starvation and we would rather pretty up the place.

we here in america are all about image. well get ur head outta ur ass and think about others, others that are dieing becuase the gov is running people outta jobs.

i cant wait till you actually see things from a point of view of people on the street and ur perfect life. so when ur on the streets begging for money wondering why does they city waste so much on image rather than feeding people, i will turn, walk away and laugh.

im trying to change the world man, make it better for the people who need it not better for those whove got it already. spend city money, thats coming out of my paycheck, on the people. not some stupid bridge, flowers, sculptures, CERAMIC PIGS??@#, and other objects that just arent needed in life. we dont need a nice painted bridge or anything fasion. we need to stop hunger and get peopl in homes.

i am trying for good, but all you can think about is how ur life is how are you doing how can i make more money. i on the other hand want to help people in the long run and look at teh future, not jsut whats in front of me.

it reminds me of skiing. when i first started i wanted to look at the tips of my skis. i now know that if you do u cant see what coming and cant prepare. so i have learned to look far ahead and visualize whats hitting my feet and keep ahead of wherre i really am.

thats what im trying to do for the so called 'american dream' america.

People work had for money.Yeah homeless people are sad,but they dont try to work and make money.

School is our future.Many people drop out of high school and become bums.Then,they wake up and notice they have no money to pay for school.

Its not really the gouvement to pick them up and give them jobs,its up to them...

seriously, dude, you do think locally. the bridge is your city's gov. no one but the city pays for that. if your mad at the fed gov, dont complain about a bridge that your city paid for, cry out about the deplorable state and federally funded arts program. people are getting money from the gov to shit in a bucket or performince 'art' that include oral sex. that is what you need to strike out at.

if you knew anything about history, you would know that part of a growing thriving country is the arts. look at the rennessance. if we didnt have a clean beautiful city, we'd look like mogadishu samolia. but at the same time you need to look deeper than what you see everyday, the obivous isnt usualy the problem

Anyways, I don't understand this thread. Should people be whining about what they DO get? Or just not at all? Because I can't decide which of those two is worse. You expect everyone to shut their mouths and be thankful of how good they have it because 'It could be worse'? Doesn't sound very sensible to me... I'm pretty sure human progress has, on the whole, been a GOOD thing. This may amaze you, but it CAN be better, so why not try to MAKE it better?

Oh, right... to do that, you'd have to admit that your country isn't perfect. We wouldn't want to o that. Seriously, imperfection isn't a bad thing. If this was as good as it gets, this would be a pretty dismal existence. Improvements can and must be made, and the first step in doing that is finding out what needs improving. Get over yourselves, and get started, because the country could use some serious moral progress right about now, regardless of how ideal and unsurpassable you think it is. Excessive nationalistic pride is one of the biggest problems in the U.S. at the moment... Another example of WAY too much of a good thing.

im sorry jd, youre right, how dare i be thankful for that which God has given me.

and dude, i know my country is imperfect. im just sick of all the people who crab about every stupid little thing that doesnt matter. i used to be like that.

im saying we need to be thankful every once in a while, instead of always complaining. people who never look at what they have, and just see what they dont have live a miserable existence. (i know i used to be one of them)
