well OP, on one hand, that's a dumb reason to get your pass clipped…but on the other hand, how old are you? a massive snowball fight? idk.
as for ski patrol, i've had some instance where i've been really glad they're there. my friend fractured his T10 on a jump, and patrol did an awesome job of fitting him up good, and seeing him off to the hospital. my brother broke his collarbone on a jib, and patrol also was awesome.
however, when ski patrol starts getting anal about stupid things like going on a closed run, or skiing switch, then they need to tone it down. i hate to generalize, but it seems like some of patrol takes it a bit far.
i had one situation at the hill i work at, where i watched an instructor lead a ski school group into the park. the instructor had no helmet, and was in the park. as far as i know, in Quebec, that's against provincial law. second of all, what a terrible example for kids he was teaching. since i was coaching at the time, i mentioned it to a patrol nearby, he said it might be something i have to discuss with Ski School director. really? REALLY? i don't think that's an appropriate response at all.
overall though, i am glad they are there.
