My point being, as someone pointed out earlier in the thread, there is always room for improvement, and giving White a perfect score just solidifies my belief that Winter X has just become a popularity contest with the purpose of selling more shit.

Outside of the X games, who knows of an athlete getting a solid perfect score in a well known, highly publicized competition in any sport?

Yup and it was lame too. He had a first perfect score on a sw dub misty 12 that he had been throwing all night. It came out of nowhere. And then he did a sw dub misty 14 which was perfect, a new trick and the toughest trick ever landed at the time. Then this one truly deserved a perfect score.

at the end of the day what does our opinion matter? what is done is done. They arnt going to go back and change it. Damn, if bobby brown would have gotten a 100 this wouldn't even be an issue right now.

I voted YES. I dont see what the big deal is. He did an amazing run and got a 100. So what, it is not his fault, dont hate on him. A couple years ago Bobby got two 50's in Big Air (a perfect score) and no one bitched about it and got mad at Bobby and  made stupid pointless polls. Get over yourselves. What is a poll going to do, it sure as hell is not going to change the fact that he got a 100 and is better than every snowboarder that he competes against.
He killed it and got a damn good score, cry about it.

Did ANYONE read my posts? It's not about perfection, it's about being scored as high as possible relative to the other riders. What were they going to give him, a 96? Only three points higher than the comparatively mediocre second place run? White fucking blew away the competition.

It has to be. Look at the progression of the sport over the last 10-15 years. They were still scoring in the mid-high 90s back then too. Does that mean that progression reached a peak back then? White's gold medal run in 2012 would have scored a fucking 394.66 in 1998. The scores change to reflect progression in the sport. In no way does getting a 100 mean progression stops in the pipe. Next year that 100 could be an 89. NS needs some common sense. If I Pod had scored, say, an 86, and White was in first with an 88 with his current run, I seriously doubt that he would have gotten a 100 to win gold, but since he already had a 94, and second place had a 93, there's only so high you can go with the scores to show that he was truly THAT much better than any other rider, and put down that much better of a run. His run was NOT perfect, but it was clearly worthy of a 7 point difference to second, in my opinion.

100% agree. it makes me lol some people think that since one person got a 100 this year that that same run will be 100 forever. progressions happens with or without perfect scores... tricks will get harder and bigger.

I don't agree on 100, but whining about his hand drag....watch that shit close, he barely touched it down, and the first hit was HUGE. It was the best pipe run ever on a snowboard IMO...All to say I"m still 1000 times more excited to see Supernatural than I was for XGames! TRice knows what's up.

if you look closely the "hand drag" was him squatting for balance upon landing, the wall of the half pipe just happened to be there. It is not like that actually helped him to stand up. He stomped that shit.

1000th vote. 72% No. and for people asking why anyone cares and saying "it's just a dumb half pipe score", it's the fact of asking the question "is there any possible way to improve my run" when there blatantly is room for improvement. No hand Drag, Not Grabbing his Knees on two of his trick's, and not doing a Straight air first hit. He could have improved those three thing's and still wouldn't have deserved a perfect score. It's the principal of judging.
