if you are not able to figure out the meaning of the title, and only know that a clockwork orange is a movie, you obviously dont understand everything about it. A clockwork orange was a book originally, copywrited in 1962. The title, 'a clockwork orange' is explained in the re-release of the book in america, which, this time included the final, 21st chapter not originally released in the american version, and not in the movie. 'a clockwork orange meaning that he has the appearance of an organism lovely with colour and juice but is in fact only a clockwork toy to be wound up by God or the Devil.' exactly what he says about the title in the re-release, however, many disputes have been made. if you really want to understand everything, buy 'a clockwork orange: resucked' it has the real ending, and an explanation of many things.

Quite possibly my favorite book of all time. Beautifully written, but it's almost like inteprteting a new language at first.

And that guy that Alex and Droogies tolchocked and whatnot, the ''Home'' guy who Alex quite accidently went back to after his release from prison, just so happened to be writting a book called 'A Clockwork Orange'. Hmmm. I suppose that's Burgess for ya.

That part blew my mind when I first read it. It's so Ironic how his droogies become cops and everything. It's probably one of the more ironic endings to any book.
