the drug war will never end....as far as legalization...maybe one day weed could be legal i could see it being legal at one point in time. But for the vast majority of drugs, they will never become legal

weed is legal. go to breck. you cant light up in public tho, just like drinking in public,  the ball is rolling , and nothings gonna stop it. thats the one good thing about obama care, do you know how much opiates there will be on the streets once every american in the ghetto gets pain treatment and sells their prescrptions?

I think that we should legalize all narcotics tax it get some revenue stop overcrowding in our prisons stop the influence of the drug cartels in our country, gangs would start diminishing because they wouldn't have much significant income aside from extortion and maybe fire arms trafficking. But why would they need fire arms their turf will just be streets no longer controlled by the circulation of dope. I honestly think this could be an important step forward in America's future.

are you saying mexicans are evil or something? especiallly when half or more of the casualties in juares etc are noob mexican police getting paid by the us gov to get slaughtered by the cartels.

if you were hungry, had nothing, no life, no hope of living a good life, and some cartel member drops 2 grand on your pillow and gives you an ak 47, would you consider youself not innocient.

i dont even have to root for the cartels, their gonna win. this bringing the war to mexico is vietnam number 2. we never learn.  you got a hundred million people who would pick up the ak and the 2 grand. you could drop nukes on mexico your still not gonna beat the law of supply and demand

No, go to Oakland, Berkeley, or San Francisco. So many people are lighting up in public in those places, that you have a "safety in numbers" scenario. The Authorities don't care as long as you're not blowing it in their face.

... if you're hauling around a few hundred pounds of green in the back of a pickup truck, you might get a little bit of attention however...

most of the "taliban" that gets killed aren't even hardcore, most of the times they're just farmer boys who get paid a couple of bucks to fight the american infidels ...

The war on drugs is a self perpetuating cycle. We outlaw drugs which causes drug dealers, and violent drug cartels to emerge. Then we have to beef up the war on drugs to fight these violent criminals, then they beef up their cartel, and with every passing year it gets more and more out of hand. Its time to just legalize it.

No one is saying crime will go away, but violent drug gangs sure will. Just look to the days of prohibition as an example. It is pretty much the exact same thing.

Correlation does not equal causation. There are a number of reasons the murder rate could have increased during the 60s-80s.

Also I am pretty sure whichever mod you are quoting is agreeing with you. All he is trying to say is that the war on drugs has caused a lot more deaths than the war on terror.

in fact pablo escobar might have been a genius, winning the peoples hearts by building hundreds of soccer fields, schools, and hospitals with his billions. america more or less  assassinated him. what if escobar rounded up an army and sent them to the us to assassinate someone. america has to calm its ego and stop claiming the fucking planet.

no he was saying that drug related deaths are a result of drugs. the reality is that the illegality of drugs causes murders.

you would find that the probability of the murder rate spikes during prohibition and the war on drugs being completely unrelated or random is very very............very close to 0.

ill add, the spoils a cartel member will get for surviving are measured in millions and billions, whereas the salaries that the broke us gov is paying to the soon to be dead mexican police are comparable to working at micky ds in the us, which is alot in mexico. but based on that info take a wild guess who is going to be taking this fight more seriously.
