Hey everyone.
I have a old pair of K2 Silencer that have already been mounted before. I was able to buy these skis for really really cheap. The condition of the skis are pretty good overall.
I was introduced to this site by a friend who skis a lot and I figured that you guys (and girls) would be the people to best answer this question.
I have a pair of Marker M38 bindings that were given to me about a year ago. I was thinking about filling the current holes in the K2 Silencers in with JB Weld and then getting these skis mounted with the Marker M38 bindings. Once I actually get better at skiing, I would remove these bindings, fill the holes and put a better set on.
Is this a good plan? I'm currently in college where most of my money is going towards tuition and paying off loans. Like my ski boots were my buddy's old pair. That's why I'm looking to put these Marker M38s on since they were free.
I have read different sources where people have said not to use epoxy and some have said to use it. Other's say to use a plug and wood glue.
I'm not a beginner skier, but this is my first twin tip skis. I might be a type II skier? Maybe... a type III (I seriously doubt that I am anywhere near this). I don't really plan on hitting big jumps or anything like that. Hopefully towards the end of winter, I can hit little jumps.
Thanks for the help.
