I have had this in the back of my mind for quite a while

I have been watching and following skiing for quite some time now. I have watched people like John Spriggs, Tanner Hall and CR.Johnson (SIP) do some amasing things. From Tanner in the pipe, to CR in the backcountry. Right from about 2004 I started seeing a new culture arise in the sport of skiing. Soundtracks, Clothing and just the whole culture evolved. Skiing became a bongfest. I would constantly log on to youtube to update myself on what was happening in the ski world and i started seeing this early. I chose to Ignore it...

I want to investigate how this came into the ski industry. Because honestly, I don't even see it as much in snowboarding as I do in skiing. I do NOT in any way hate or discourage this kind of ski culture, I am meerly just intereasted In why, and how this started

Some people like to smoke weed, some don't.

As soon as they see people like tanner doing it, I'm sure it influences some people to want to also.

But I don't think there is some massive movement in "rasta" things or more weed orientated skiing, its all personal choice, people can wear what they want to wear and smoke if they want to smoke

you obviously haven't been "following" skiing for that long. rasta and reggae music was in ski movies in 1988 buddy. get your skiing knowledge up and watch blizzard of ahhhs.

Because when you wear rasta colors,(any at all may it be skis, gloves, helmet) jah protects you from harm.

you're right, it is a bit strange.  i'd say the majority of it has just come from tanner.  he's had a huge personal influence on freeski culture both as an individual and through the movies that he's made
