In 6th grade I brought a freeskier to school. It was the edition with sarah burke's arousing fhm picture. The magazine was passed around by the boys until my teacher took the magazine, which was now permanently creased to the full-page picture of sarah and said "oh, I will be keeping this today". I got it back, but I had a parent-teacher conference first.

I still have the freeskier with the article "Queen of Freeskiing" about Sarah Burke. It has a page ripped out of the article though, because her picture has been hanging on my wall since I got the magazine. Such an inspiration. S.I.P and R.I.P

Right!! and thats just ONE of her sponsors! the donations are already over a third of the total and I'm sure there will be no problem reaching atleast 50%, but the fact that they haven't announced anything, even RIP, is just pathetic. deleting posts on their facebook wall without saying 'hey we're figuring something out just sit tight' even Orage already donated $1000 and they didn't sponsor her.


someone on TGR quoted chug saying they were going to do something, but 24+ hrs later and nothing is mentioned, never supporting that company again, regardless if they do donate in the future

fuck US health care it sucks way too much that they should have to pay that. We need to move forward towards Universal Health Care. Through everything to waste if a republican gets elected.

I've never met Sarah personally, but if I passed skiing, I know that I wouldnt want everyone with "I ride for Ro" stickers on everyones helmets. I dont ride for anyone else but myself, and thats what skiing is about. Its such a tragic situation, but I'm using it as a reminder to enjoy every day up skiing to the fullest.

Ride for today, you only get today once.

RIP Sarah, no disrespect intended.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
We're showing our support for her, what shes done for the sport, and her family and you have the nerv to say we're all stupid (pretty much what your saying)

A lot of these stickers are being sold to help cover medical costs to the family.

Rory, it's a way to honor and remember someone who has been monumentally influential in our sport, and for many people, our lives. This is a bad time for skiing, and these stickers do exactly as you say - a reminder to enjoy skiing to its fullest every day.

Well first off, Im not calling anyone stupid in this situation. Sarah is a huge inspiration to us all, and I would never rag on anyone for wearing a sticker like this. in my humble opinion, Sarahs dynasty and memory transcends a sticker on a helmet - Im thinking of her always.

We all lost an amazing member of the community so unexpectedly, and its further motivation to go out there and enjoy every day, skiing or not. I don't ski for Sarah. I don't ski for CR. I don't ski for Mconkey. I ski for myself and I feel that is what they would have wanted as well. I will forever cherish them in my memory and wholeheartedly appreciate each one of them, as both an athlete and moreso as a person.

Do your own thing man, Im not trying to start any fires here. Let her memory live on as you see fit.

The point of the stickers is to show your support, both financially and emotionally. We are skiing in honor of her memory and I think you should do the same. We openly support her and her family through our shredding and spread the awareness of her legacy through her stickers on our helmet. It doesnt matter who you ski for. Its just nice to display Sarah and her legacy and show your support for a legend and her family.
