Deferring from College

So I'm a high school senior in college and I already know where I'm going next year via early decision. I have long considered taking a gap year but now that Im into college I'm really interested in deferring for a year to work. I was just wondering if anyone had any personal experience here or just any ideas about deferring.

I know this isn't the best place for advice but any help or knowledge would help a lot.

I did it for family reasons. It was a good decision imo.
