Afterbangs or moment jib?

Lookin at both skis and wondering wich one is more buttery and can handle the most abuse? Which ski do you guys think is higher quality?

Moments are higher quality. They're much stiffer than the afterbangs, but also better made.

Those are the Team skis pictured which are a stiffer version of the Jib. At your size, I'd probably go with the Jib in 176 or 181.

exact same thing happened to my friend!

I dont know shit about the moments but i know the after bangs get shipped and water logged way faster then other skis and basically become noodles. And iv'e heard of peoples afterbangs braking after 2 weeks.

yeah since they are skatedeck technology they are made mostly of wood which soaks up the water making them heavy

i ride the line chronics but my friend has been on afterbangs for two years and abused the massivly. They are your best choice.

seriously? you're an idiot if you think that's why they're heavy.

they're heavy because of the extruded bases, and the fact that they're entirely made of wood.

line soaks the wood laminates in an epoxy like substance before putting the ski together. making it impossible for the wood to absorb water. also if the wood did absorb water the camber would be gone.

the reason they fall apart so quickly is because they cost under 400 dollars. they're a price point ski meant to last a season, and that's exactly what happens with them.

i dont get it, you control the abuse. dont go skiing on concrete often, dont throw your skis, treat them well and they should last twice as long. i get it if you are skiing and abuse them, but off the hill try and treat them well. all these kids buy expensive skis and break em. you dont need to be that hard, come on now.
why dont you test out both skis. everyone has their preference, you cant possibly pick a ski biased on what NS says.

Both are decent skis, the moments are probably lighter however. You can find the 2011 moment jib on evo outlet for $445.90 only $65 more expensive than this years afterbangs at $379.95.

Well if he owns Moments, he would know firsthand how they are. I'm not saying Moment is bad, be he has a reason to dislike them, I'm actually considering buying Moments next season,

It one kid out of how every many people own moments. I'm talking from firsthand experiance too. They are durable skis. Plus, comparing afterbangs to moments is like comparing apples to oranges. Afterbangs are a price point ski.

i have the afterbangs right now and i like them a lot! they have a super soft flex and they are quite durable. people say they are heavy and all but i dont think theyre heavy, ive learned the most tricks with them then any other ski i have had. ithis is just my opinion/review on the afterbangs, i dont know about the moments though. youll probably have fun with both though

While a lot of 14 year old NS'ers may not get that. its 100% true. You cant compare the true quality of a 5k DH bike to a walmart bike. The quality is just not there.

Moment is a super sick company and i know almost all the guys there. But holy fuck i break their shit easy, might be just me but both suck.

I know first hand, and i beat the shit out of my skis, i had moment jibs last year, i broke the nose on the ski and pulled edge out. This year on my a-bangs they are delaming, just shitty skis all aound

I ride after bangs and they are really fun skis but this is my 2nd year on them and they are noodles and there 155s. Im upgrading to the moment jibs. like people have said afterbangs are good for a season so i would go with the moments
