now, i use some freeride boots(head s10) since 2-3 years and if i do some butter or things like that, it doesnt take much to have shin bang. so the question is: Are the shin bangs caused by my freeride boots and i would change them for freestyle boots?
Shin bang is primarily caused by having a boot that does not fit you correctly and/or without footbeds.
The right footbed
Boot that is the right size
Boot that is the right width/volume
Boot that is not too stiff
Boot that is not too soft
Cuff needs to match your leg shape (no gap between your tongue & shin, and is not too low on your leg)
Don't land backseat (easier said than done sometimes but it will help)
It doesn't matter if the boot is a "race" boot or "freeride" boot or "freestyle" boot- the most important thing is that it fits you correctly and you also buy a supportive footbed.
So spot on!^^^. I have boots that fit correctly and if I land really back seat I can still feel it. Need to start landing switch more.
