Well, the weight of the ski is usually not a determining factor when selecting the proper length.
The length is completely dependent on the rider. If you feel that you are a fairly experienced skier, always go with a longer length. It will only increase stability particularly at high speeds.
On the other hand, if you haven't been skiing too long and don't feel as if you are an expert skier, then go with a shorter ski.
