This is insane. Although I believe the FFRF Rep. presented his argument poorly, I agree with him. This isn't a thread about Fox News. It's about freedom from religion. I don't define myself as an atheist, but i am surely not religious, and i definitely do not want our government to represent any religion or support one. The scene should be taken off of government property, not because it is a "symbol of hate", like the representative said, but because not everyone in this country is of one religion.
Other than his poor argument, I thought he was very tolerant and kept his lid nicely, unlike the host who ragequit.
this is a sticky issue that i'm not gonna take a side on, but i don't think his reaction was really that ridiculous. he kicked him off because he was saying some things that christians would find extremely offensive, and you could tell it personally upset him. he has a tv show to act professional on, and you could tell he was on the brink of a much more serious freak out. kicking him out was probably the best thing for the sake of the show at that point. the FFRF guy downgraded the debate to one about the values and evils of christianity instead of the thing he was invited to debate about which is the legitimacy of religious images displayed on public property
it would be like inviting someone on to talk about changing the ballot system and then having them call your belief democracy an evil belief. kicking him off wasn't very professional, but seriously that debate was going downhill really fast anyway.
lol i can't believe i just defended a fox news host
i also never thought i'd side with a fox news show host, but considering this guy's argument on the show was that the Nativity scene was offensive... he sure did a great job at not offending anyone. it really pisses me off how everything anti-christian is considered being open minded. if i went in public and started ranting about how some other religion was horrible, i'd be blasted for being intolerant, but the same does not apply to people ranting about christianity in public media for some reason.
If I die skiing and anyone sues over it, I will haunt them and all future generations until Judgment day.
