I'm fairly new to photography but would like to upgrade from my point and shoot to a DSLR and I've narrowed down my choices to these two. I chose Nikon because I already have a pretty nice nikon lens that I got from a friend. Anyways, are there any big noticable differences between these two cameras? (besides the d5000 being ~200 dollars more) Thank you!
I have a d3100 and I love it, its my first DSLR and I had to buy it for my major. I currently dont have any bad things to say about it and Ive been using it for 5-6 months now (film and photography). Hope this helped!
D90 is in between those two, right now its $680 CAD on Henrys site. It was the first camera Ive ever owned, I have a fair amount of experience and I haven't even thought of an upgrade yet. It sounds like youve got a lens that covers most focal lengths you'll ever need at this point so you won't need any new fancy lenses for a while, so get a decent camera to start!
