Booters fitting problem

got a couple problems with the FT Booters, either they're too tight and my feet fall asleep or they're too loose and my heel lifts up

on a sidenote i have big ol manly calves, so that might be part of the problem

i was wondering if getting a stiffer tongue flex would help this at all, i've spent probably close to an hour trying to get these things to fit at a time, and they end up either being too tight or too loose

Did you ever take them to a bootfitter or get fitted? If not, that's your problem

Are they new boots?

How do they feel without you buckling them up?

How much room is there in the shell minus the liner?

boot sounds way too big. A common problem of a boot that is too big is that you have to crank the buckles down to feel snug, but this cuts off blood flow and you go numb.

If the boot is too big, there are only band-aid fixes that will sort of help but nothing will solve the problem since you can't shrink a boot.

What is their exchange policy or fit guarantee, if they have one?

Anyone have the same man-calf problem that could recommend a better fitting boot, because the nearest bootfitter is a state away. and the only park oriented boots my shop carries are full tilts

Go for something not oriented towards park?

I would have thought that a better fitting boot would be more beneficial than a "park specific" boot. A stiffer boot will probably make fuck all of a difference to how you ride.

Use boots that fit. I use race boots, and I know a lot of other pros use race boots, because they fit

i agree b.utter$, ive grown up using park boots, so im used to a stiffer boot, which i like. but as a high school with a shit job, the booters seem pretty appealing when theyre 2-300 dollars less than a good stiff boot

pros wear race boots for pefomance, plug boots last measurements are <95 in normal sizes.

OP, sounds like your boots are too big. I have a pair of the new booters as well as having big ass calves. My boots fit great, but i had them properly fitted by a bootfitter.

Every time I hear you drooling mongoloids refer to Full Tilt as "park boots" I die a little inside. You do realize the design has been in use for 30 years, and has been worn by Olympic DH medalists right? Years before anyone thought about park.

OP should get some boots that fucking fit, not the ones that make him more steezy.

yeah ill get right on that, ill go up to the shop and fit myself for some boots. my local shop sells two kinds of boots, 900 dollar fischers and nordicas, and FT drop kicks, wallischs, and the booters. so maybe ill just pack up and drive out west to get myself a pair of boots

But from what it sounds like you bought fulltilts not because they fit but because they're fulltilts.
Buy boots that fit you...

Thats kinda hard when, other than the fulltilts, the only boots my local shop carries are >800$ and they are high end race boots, which i have no chance of being able to afford for a while.

im not exaggerating any of this either, im from central wisconsin, so a good bootfitter is pretty hard to come by, and the shop won't get one because the shop owner has a weird problem with feet. as of now im tryin to figure out if puttin a stiffer tongue in my boots would help, or if i would be better off selling/trading them for a different pair

I live in southern Wisconsin, i realize we don't have the greatest selection of boots you can probably go to fontana sports in Madison and if you do some research there's plenty of good shops in your area. A stiffer tongue won't help your boots fit better. I would say try trading with someone maybe make a thread in regionals.

My post above wasn't totally directed at you it's just this thread has been made 100 times. Good luck though.

Do you never travel anywhere to ski? You will be able to get some boots fitted in a resort and you will get skiing too, so that may be worth looking in too.

I think your best bet is to return the boots you have, They clearly dont fit and are not going to get any better. If that shop has no fitter then just dont bother with them there is no point. If you however really need some boots your only choice is to go to a shop with a fitter, yes this may take some hours but you have to think it will be worth it in the end. I have had customers do 16 hour round trips to get there boots from me.

I've never tried Technica, but the Nordica Ace of Spades boot is 'park-oriented' and fitted my reasonable size chode-calves in them quite nicely. Maybe see if your shop can give them a whirl. I hate suggesting specific boots but when you're stuck, you're stuck.

I got the exact same problem, only that I have the Hotdogger, and mine is heatmoulded.

This. Call some shops, make a day out of it, drive somewhere and get fitted. Make an appointment if you have to, just so you know someone will dedicate the proper time to finding you the right boot. It sucks that your boots are too big, but there is no way to really fix a boot that is too sloppy. It can never really be properly fixed.

even if the closest decent shop is fontana, that doesnt solve the problem of me havin 80 bucks in the bank workin a shit carpentry job

And i rarely travel anywhere to ski, im goin out to vail end of january but thats it, other than that its every tuesday, thursday, friday, and saturday at granite peak
