Yo, im planning on visiting the land of liberty in a few winters or so, and i was just wondering, what are the laws on ofpist riding? My sources tells me its a no go without a guide, and im scared.

ya its definitely a lot more strict in the states. chances are u wont get caught tho. i ppoach all the time

depends on the resort. Mammoth has an open boundries policy so you can go to backcountry and build huge kickers no prob. its a ton of money if you have to get rescued tho

Yeah, it depends on where you go and when you go there...

I remember going to vail when I was little (before they opened the back bowls) and around the middle of the season they let us go off the back, but towards the end of the season they wouldn't. I don't know if every place is like that, but I wouldn't worry about it to much.

it all depends on the mountain (whether or no they have open BC gates or not), mostly because unlike in europe, most ski mountains aren't close to eachother or connected.

i live in europe and i can ride everywhere and everytime i wanna. Is this true that there is a patrol in the states that looks for illegal off-piste riding? That would be weird.

vail and beavercreek are crazy about ppl goin out of bounds. jackson hole doesn't care im pretty sure, just check around each resort is different.

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

Yea some mountains go crazy over it, some have total open bounds. You really just have to check with the mountain before you go.

The resorts in Utah Usually have backcountry access points and from there you can go where ever, just don't jump the ropes to get there, or get caught anyway.
