SNOW is the first true freeride and freestyle game for skiers and snowboarders. Based on the free-to-play model, SNOW looks to restart the winter sports genre taking the player back to basics refining scale, physics and controls to capture the majesty of the mountain. SNOW is a game for riders, by riders.
SNOW will be released for free later this year and developed according to feedback from the community.
I'd just buy the game but I don't want to support people that support microtransactions
Well buy the game but don't buy anything in game? Yes there are micro transaction but when buying them you are supporting the development of the game because all the money goes to the developers and from what I understand, it's not like they give you an advantage over other player.

Haven't herd anything from the developers recently, is there anything in particular you guys are working on right now? And also whats the progress with the B&E map?

I mean they said the map was almost done at the time of the event so i wonder if they're going to start making us pay for maps/levels too

That's my fault, sorry - have been really bad at replying to posts on NS and other social channels. Will try be a little more responsive :)
Anyway - if you haven't received your key yet, don't worry. We haven't sent all the invites out yet, in fact we haven't sent out even half. We're slowing down with the number of invites we're sending out until we release the next update (which will be a major one, 0.6.0) at the end of June. We're working on a bunch of cool things (features + new areas/levels) and will share more info about this update early next week.

Did you guys change the duration of the combo meter? It seems like its going down faster, making it harder to get higher points through combos in slopestyle

I feel like they did. Also totally cant wait until we can "level up" in free ride mode that'll be nice. @Snow have you guys been working on snowboarding mechanics at all yet?

Not that I know of.. but don't get too used to that feature, we're going to change it in the next update to be focused around the quality of your landing rather than an arbitrary timer. So you'll get multipliers if you stomp your landing versus a sketchy landing.

So, I've heard talk about this game showing up on PS4 consoles, is that true? Being that I don't own any sort of computer that can run this game, a console release would be the only way I could play.

might be already done, but can we have a more fluent control scheme like from shred sauce or jibbin please? the games is really wonky for at least me when i play it.

I dont really mind the controls tbh they're like any other regular computer game. in the future iirc you'll be able to map your keys

i mean really its like the most unintuitive controls for a ski game. Its like they took a mapping of an xbox 360 controller and ported it on. its just giving me a headache.

Its just personal preference. The controls totally made sense when I started playing it.

Could you give more detail to what doesn't make sense to you? We're using pretty standard inputs (WASD, Space, Shift + arrow keys) so I'm not sure exactly what you don't like...

I think it would be easier with a hot key system, arrow keys to move and key bindings qwer, like from league and wow. For two reasons, first is that the arrow keys and hot key for grabs is what is used for most skiing/ snowboarding games put on pc lately so it will reduce the learning and adjustement issues of the game.
Second it's slightly more intuitive for people with larger hands because they can spread their left hand across the keyboard while not having to struggle mid air to find a different button.
Also I'm probably kind of bias since I play a lot of rpg's and mobas, but i think it would make a nice alternative to not mess with people motor memory for people who play a lot of shred sauce and mobas.
I agree with the above. I remapped freakout to a number pad for motion, with 7 and 9 being off axis rolls. It's way easier, wish shredsauce had that as standard. Just give people the option?

I guess a big problem is that a good amount of people try to play on laptops which don't have num pads, not to mention there are a lot of peripheral keyboards that don't come with them either.
I feel like snow and most sports games fall into the category of games that need a controller to not feel clunky. There should be a fluid motion and a simple on/off keystroke doesn't achieve the same feeling that a joystick could provide. I mean I can try tapping A and D as quickly as I want but it won't give me an enjoyable experience when I'm trying to navigate a chute. To phrase it better, in this application I feel a joystick would be more accurate than a keyboard.
