How to beat a hot wing challenge

Tomorrow, me and a friend are challenging the Salt Lake wing coop 11 wing challenge. Basically, these wings are just the hottest. Do you have any tricks to prepare or counteract the hotness during eating the wings? Maybe pouring candle wax in my mouth so I don't feel the spiciness? I don't know, just ideas.

if you shower in tomato sauce one hour before the competition it helps, and if you drop a mattress in a pool it takes a crane to get it out

candle wax? na man. im pretty sure that you just have to man up and eat it. I can eat some pretty spicy shit but im trying to cut back cause the next morning is jussssttttt brutal.

Get cough drops with nova cane (or some other anesthetic) and take a bunch of them before trying it.

Then drink milk during the competition.

just dont be a pussy, i did a 12 wing one in 2 minutes, and to those suggesting milk you cant drink anything or wipe your face during the challenge. The worst part is the sauce burning your skin

I dont have any suggestions about how to beat it, but if you manage to eat all 11, DO NOT drink water. It may seem to cool down your mouth, but it really just spreads it around and doesn't help at all. You need to drink milk, and a lot of it.

coat your mouth in ora gel it will only last about 10 minutes though. Make sure you have a glass of milk. eat wings with ranch dressing.

Don't wear contacts.

Prepare yourself mentally, the burning sensation is entirely temporary. You can work through it. You will not die from eating spicey food (youd have to have really high blood pressure and essentially have a heart attack for that to happen). Just work through it.

I think the trick is to try and keep your lips out of the way. less contact with sauce = better. and keep your tongue down as well

haha youre not gonna make it man. We had those at our house last week cause my roommate brought em home from work and we had a party, everyone thought they could do it but one bite made 3/4's of the kids either throw up or come realll close. Im not too sure how much of it was the alcohol but i can tell you those things are nuts

MILK

Drink Something Ice-Cold - Ice numbs the nerves in your mouth to the point where they aren't activated by the spice. Your body will still feel the reactions, but the immediate fire will be quenched.

Clove oil Magic Potoin, numbs the nerves in your mouth, works like a charm.

Also you can take a load of paracetamol, let it dissolve in your mouth, this will also numb the nerves.

And remember: the effects of spicy foods on our bodies only last about 15 minutes after you stop eating. If you overdo it, just grit your teeth, drink some ice water, and know that all will be well soon

Just a thought but a little indica heavy pot could possibly help? Maybe dull the pain and make your thoughts run wild instead of focusing on the fire in your mouth.

Keep it off your face, anything on your lips or around there will be the worst part. Follow everyone else's numbing ideas. If you can, strip all the meat of the wings, and then eat it in smaller bites with a fork, and swallow it quick

If you are allowed to , take the beat off the bones using to forks and then using a fork eat it as fast as you can. The faster you eat it the less it will burn. If you use a fork it won't burn your hands either(provided they are that hot).

If not still do this but just use your hands.

Eat TUMS before and after.  And then some more in the morning.

I've never heard of Coop's "11" wings before, but i've eaten a few spicy items.  At the Moberly Pub in Golden they have a contest wing, that is ridiculously hot.  It has no flavour, it tastes like a chemical burn in your mouth.  I ate one.  That was all I wanted. 

There was a write up in SKIER magazine a few years back about this pub and these wings.  They're no joke.

yesterday, someone showed me a really good way to down wings fast. i don't know if this will help with the heat, but what you can do is take the wing in one hand, and push the bony side down on the plate with your thumb and index finger. it will smush down, then simply put it in your mouth and pull it back out like you are pulling a string out. be sure to scrape it off nice and good while you are pulling it out though. this should work perfectly and all that will be left will be the bones. i saw a kid try it for his first time and did it almost flawlessly, so it requires almost no practice.
