something that really bothers me: when women tell other women that it is okay to be fat and to not be skinny. yes, I agree with this, but there is a difference between being fat and being healthy. I quiver at the thought that this "body image movement" has the ability to shape the way women think and to allow them to think that skinny is being healthy. Any size of a person's body does not create a beautiful image, it's what's "inside" that counts. But with this thought that women can love their bodies no matter what and do not have to change anything about themselves, quite a bit can go wrong. It should not be a matter of being skinny or fat, it should be a matter of being healthy and creating a healthy body for yourself.
I don't know if that even makes sense what I just wrote, but it bugs me that this teaches women to not exercise and take care of themselves. /rant

yeah dude, its in the 70's here in fairbanks as well. its already shaping up to be a bad fire year here, everything is so dry. last week i was at my buddies house on his deck and one of his neighbors ignored the burn ban and ended up starting a small wildfire which burned a few acres in a matter of minutes but they got it under control.
