Think of this from a monetary standpoint...most people find big mountain boring to watch, and jibbing exciting...so now why would a company sponsor a big mountain rider that gets no recognition and no one cares about anyway...jibbers are in the x-games and a few other big contests and they get TV time...I can;t even name a big mountain contest...
So...I'm not saying that either side is better...I love both and I hope that one day I'll move out west and experience some real skiing, but sponsorship is all about money...
And a lot of kids will do whatever is easiest these days...jibbers gain fame a million times faster than any big mountain rider....all they need is one trick and they could be famous...big mountain takes a lifetime to perfect....if you are looking for the fame, who has a lifetime to wait..???
