I actually own both of these skis.
09 185 JJ and '10 179 Obsethed
Spent a shitload of days last season on the JJs, and plenty of time on them in NZ over the summer. 75ish days.
OP, the JJs are way more versitile. I would recommed them over the obsethed. I've had them in every condition from slick ice (not fun), to 2+ feet of pow. If you're "doing it right" you can ski these pretty much every day. I would not use these as a park ski, but hitting rails and jumps isnt a problem.
I only put 15 or so days on the obesthed this year. You really need some good snow for these to shine. At the same time a friend at my mountain rode his every day no matter what conditions and he loved them. For me though, not an every day ski.

189 Obsethed is a big ski.. 179 rides trees really well. 189 is going to charge.
