If i have a bunch of pokemon cards somewhere in my closet from when i was younger, should i save them/will they ever be worth any money? or should i just give them to some little kid?

probably not going to be worth much ever. Keep in mind that damn near every single kid in the US/Canada at least, have had pokemon cards since the mid 90s. If they stopped production then maybe they'd be worth money. But its not going to be worth much if everyone had/has them.

also you should keep in mind the longevity of the franchise. they've been going on and on for years now. creating newer Pokemon pretty much everyday. I would think the original 50/51 would soon be completely forgotten except in older people's memories

I'm keeping mine. Lots of people I know are throwing them away. I could probably sell my collection and make a couple bucks right now, but I prefer to keep them. They don't take place and *maybe* they'll be worth something later on, esp. if everyone throws theirs away! If not, well fuck it I'll have something to show my grand children...
