Formula for your pole length!!

1) Measure the distance between the bottom of your jacket/tall tee
2) Multiply that by 1.5
3) Cut your poles to that length!!

i hold my pole as i normally would, then keep my arm straight out to the side and measure pole length against my body... if pole can stab my ribs, pole too short...

No, silly. That depends on your torso length. After spending a lot of time in high-level terrain parks, I've noticed there's a relationship between the tallness of your tee and the shortness of your pole.
