Tail Press?

Is it common for skiers to do snowboarder-type tail or nose presses? I never really see them. For those of you that are wondering what I'm talking about, go to 00:31.

So I was thinking that the ski version would be to lean back on your tails as you slide across the box, but I've never really seen it. I have seen leaning on your noses in a couple edits. I was thinking that Casabon would perform a trick like this.

So am I just being ignorant or is there actually a bunch of edits/photos/movies with this trick in it?

I think OP means tail manuals/butters on a rail or box. I do 50/50 tail manuals all the time on my fujatives due to their awesome softness.

do you mean 5-0's and nose presses as opposed to nose/tail slides? either way, lots of people are doing them. will wesson has been doing switch nose presses for at least 3 years. im not going to find specific edits, but they're not especially rare tricks.

that would be a bluntslide, he is talking about the equivalent of a 5-0 on skis. i've seen it in a few edits, lolo does one in the day in the life max hill. done it myself a few times. its kind of funny looking

that was barely pressed, it was more of one of those "I tried to tailpress but made it look like I have a heavy shit in my pants" type of presses. The rest of the edit was real sick though.

for presses like these on skis, you reallllllly have to lean into it.

i think 3:10 is about as close as skiers can get on a rail. Seen lots of it on boxes tho.

because skis are mounted in the center you have to use a lot more energy to keep balanced than when your pressing on a snowboard which makes them a lot harder for us

50/50 nose presses are so damn hard to land in that position and stay balanced. Ive seen a couple kids try them this year at my mountain.

tailpress on skis only really works if you halfcab in

that said you can kind of salad single barrel rails on skis if you lock in to the outside, but  the sack risk is high

This. Casabon throws the dirtiest tail presses.
For butters/manuals on no one has it on lock down as much as Max Hill. It's his staple.
