Is t2i the way to go?

it seems like everyone has a t2i.. is it really the dslr to get? or would you suggest something else for me.. this will be my first dslr

for video the T2i is bomb. i love mine.

only shoots 3.7 fps though

Ive heard gh2's are super good from some people on dvxuser, some people like them more than the canon dslr's

Jealous. But if you're not looking to spend that much on a lens go with the Tamron 17-50 or Canon 17-40 L.

the range with the 24-105 is alot better.
I would take the range over the wideness.

Definitely. But it's 800 dollars more. I dont think he'll want to spend that much on his first dslr.

Than the Tamron that is I guess its not much more than the 17-40.

my friend bought his 17-40 for 800 after tax.
