Rollerblading style

i feel like for a while in the 90s rollerblading got really lame when nobody payed attention to style and people started idolizing skaters like stockwell, who in my opinion skates like hes taking a dump in the woods. Old schoolers like chris chesire (youtube his old videos) had awesome style but it seemed like the generation of rollers to follow just stopped caring about style which is pretty lame imo. Chris haffey and stefane alfano especially have brought some style back into rolling but i feel like bladers like this russian http://vimeo.com/7671986 are really really getting rollerblading back to being really cool again. Nobody is going to call this guy a frootbooter after watching him skate. but yeah if someone can imbed ill give them karma, but i feel like with the fucking saga flashing icon on newschoolers, imbedding just makes computers freeze nowadays.

so yeah watch this russian kid and youll get what im talking about

yeah i think the snowboarding style that affected skiing is now the same with skiing style affecting rolling. I agree he probly skis or at least has seen a modern jib vid

Dima is a sponsored skater first, skiboarder second, and a skier third.  I think his style has developed from all 3 sports.  I rode with him when he was wicked young and his style has gotten so much smoother since then.  Kid shreds

Throw on blades and try any of the insane amounts of grinds there are.  It is so hard to put your feet in the right position to land most of those tricks.  Go try it and ponder your comment while you fall on your ass over and over again.  I don't tend to disrespect posts but damn.  Respect the insane amount of skill needed to inline

you're fucking stupid, aren't you. maybe you should consider reading comprehention before you decide to criticize. i said it has no style and looks stupid. i never said anything about it being easy or being able to do it myself. i was pro motocross shit. cool as fuck. pro skiing / boarding, cool as fuck. pro blading? looks like a fucking joke. it'd be like if skiers penciled out spins or grabbed their boot with every trick. that's all rollerblading is to me. i bet it makes you feel like a G, but you look like a fucking tool practicing man-ballet.

same could be said about everything man. 

skiing:  jump, twirly around, cross your ski, grab your ski, land and pop up like a fucking broken jack in the box.

snowboarding:  jump, twirly around, grab your board, land.

i am fine if you don't like it, but that argument is just lame.  i can totally see how you don't like a lot of the style of bladers out there, since i totally agree, there are a select few who i find tolerable to watch.  i just think you need to come up with a better reason for why you don't like it. 

for instance in watching related vids from the ones i saw on here i dont like brian aragon for example.  he just isn't very fluid and seems too tense when he is doing tricks.  i like mike murda because he is very fluid and his style looks effortless.

same reason i like pollard and jon, they are incredibly fluid and look effortless.  while he is a good skier, i don't like gus kenworthy because he looks too rigid and seems sloppy to me.

saying you don't like something because its twirly and "not extreme" just sounds unintelligent.

it's not an argument when the sport died because of how fucking ugly it was to watch. it's not an argument when the partnering sport of skateboarding makes bladers look insanely foolish. it's cool that you love it but at least know that you're on the same level of die hard scooter fans.

without the crossing the legs part. instead we just see how many times we can spin around on a rail.

theres just as much to blading as there is to skiing. if you don't like it, that's fine. but don't act like it is more pointless or simple than skiing.

that's not necessarily why it died dude. sure, people thought it looked ugly, but that's because skateboarding came first (in terms of tricks), and that's what people already liked. so to people who loved skateboarding, blading was just a dumb sport that was kinda biting skateboarding. hence its death.

Nah, you're fucking stupid. It's the same shit as skiing, except all skiing has is frontside / backside.

In fact, now that I think of it, skiing is much more ballet influenced in every single way. Rollerbladers grab their boots because they don't have anything else to grab, but someone of your intelligence would clearly have trouble comprehending such a concept.

Never said I loved rollerblading. If you read my post I said there were a select few I found tolerable. It's just like anything else man you like some and hate the others. I was just trying to point out that his generalization of them doing spinny twirly things can relate to every sport.

i respect bladers so much.
i myself blade and there is currently huge growth for the sport around my area. lots of kids are picking it up.

i can see when non bladers dont understand the "blading style" but it takes so much precision and skill

heres an edit ive been really stoked on lately

in many ways, blading urban is way more intense than skiing. There are no lips to get on rails, you have to jump onto everything. you dont have the ski length for ballance, landing back seat, or pretzling.  it hurts more to fall if there is no snow... stuff like that
