Rollerblading VS. Skiing

Some people think Rollerblading is easier than Skiing. I disagree with that. I think skiiing is much easier. What do you think?

im an avid skier and new to rollerblading and i would say rollerblading is a lot harder.

Skiing doesn't hurt as much when you fall on rails whichever you start first is harder i think since they transfer very well into each other

Rollerblading just doesnt give me the traction on rails as it does on skis.

well thats cause you ski. if you asked a basketball player if basketball or soccer was easier for him, he'd say basketball.

lots of kids on here say it's hard cause it's not like skiing.

plus you're just gonna get flamed for this probably and unfortunately.

No sport is easier than another, for example clearing 5 stairs is way easier on skis, but skiers go bigger than skaters so the difficulty is the same.

apples and oranges... skiing a rollerblading dont actually have that much in common in terms of tricks / body movement, so it is hard to say if one is harder than the other. that like, which is harder, football or baseball?

chris haffey, brian shima, and franky morales, 3 pro bladers, decided to try skiing. they went to mammoth and with in a few sessions were doing switch 9s.

Hitting rollerblade size features is obviously way easier on skis, but it is possible to go MUCH bigger on skis, so you can't really compare the two. I WILL agree that rollerblading is super tech and requires a crazy amount of precision. i have a really hard time with it, but thats probably because im used to 178cm of platform on each foot, as opposed to two tiny wheels.

If you ask a skier who has never rollerbladed before, he will say it's harder than skiing.
If you ask a rollerblader who has never skied before, he will say it's harder than rollerblading.

i can easily say i share the same love for rollerblading as i do skiing. and as for what is "easier" i think its easier to get into skiing over rollerblading. however, once at an average skill level, it is much easier to progress in rollerblading rather than skiing.

They're both lots of fun. Rollerblading does hurt more when you fall so that can create sort of a mental block for some people and make it harder for them to push themselves to progress. But I'd say they're both equally hard to get good at.

I agree with the people saying the thread is stupid, its just too biased to get a straight answer.

They will just choose the sport they are worse at, and say its harder.

I personally say Rollerblading only because of concrete... you can get bucked pretty hard even when your fuckin around with friends. Otherwise I would say they are just too different to compare.

that s wrong.

transitions, pumping is the exact same.

riding switch is also the exact same. a bit easier on blades though.

blading skills transfer easily to skiing. other way around is harder, cause landing on those short ass boots  is hard. and you have less stability on blades.

most simple tricks are the same.

rollerblading is a lot harder than skiing imo because if u land wrong, ur more likely to cut yourself on the pavement of break something where as skiing usualy only ends with bruises if you land wrong.(unless you land really wrong) i have been blading for a few years, and i pretty much suck, but it really does help your skiing especially for rails and just overall balance.

i am a skateboarder, and on occasion ill barrow some skates and try it out. its fucking hard, i cant even drop in. but my some of friends got really good in a matter of hours. i guess it is not for everybody

if your definition of really good was basic grinds dropping and jumping stuff then maybe. there's a huge gap between being a beginner skater and good one. it's easy to master all the basic stuff, definitely easier than skateboarding. but the pro and am level stuff is out of reach for most people.
