The Official 2011 Ask Your Date to Prom Idea thread

Thread's purpose- to give non-creative guys help on how to ask your date to prom.

Any ideas you have/ past ideas can be mentioned.

My idea i was going to ask my girlfriend was when she isn't home go into her room and fill up a bunch of balloons and have one balloon with a note asking her to prom. And she'll have to go and pop the balloons till she finds the balloon with note.


Yes i do realize they have a ladies men cult but i felt that it is kinda dead and this would get more attention to it.

if giving her a note to read somewhere is your definition of creativity, then damn dude, that's pretty shameful haha.

explain to me how going up to a girl and asking takes more balls than putting a ton of work into some awesome way of asking that she will remember, even if you don't know if she's going to say yes

I know it's not creative but so far I have only seen people talk about how they wrote "prom?" somewhere. Hell I could do that but it is pretty hard to go up to a girl and straight up ask her, especially if you don't know what she is going to say. Just want to make that point clear since most of you probably know what she is going to say.

Also taking the non-creative way means that you will get a true answer. Since she might just have to say yes because it could be embarrassing to say no, or she doesn't want to say no because of how hard you worked and not because she wants to go with you.

i held up a sign on a hill (in the rain) above her lacrosse practice that said "carly prom?"
it was hella embarrassing. they stopped practice and she came up and everybody was watching/cheering. fun times...

i printed out a couple peices of paper that said "will you" "go to semi formal (our jr prom)" and was standing outside of her last class of the day (i got people to give her the other notes) with some flowers and a sign that said "with me"

Supplies
1. Side walk chalk
2. yellow caution tape
3. a friend

Super simple but girls think its cute most of the time...

Have your friend outline your body on the drive way and then above it. IN YOUR BEST HANDWRITING (everyone knows guys hand writing typically sucks) write "i am dying to ask you to prom"
Now caution tape the drive way... get creative. make it your own. But the concept is simple its just up to you on how extravagant you make it.

I however created the lryics from the song i go back by Kenny Chesney. because it was my girls favorite song. " a blanket a girl on the fifty yard line" i had candles to light it up a bit and a bottle of FAKE raspberry wine.

Here is the best advice I can give as for Prom.

Ask the hottest girl you can find. Your school or neighboring.

If she rejects you, don't take it personal.

Then ask next hottest girl.

Repeat until one accepts you, or you go through 10 girls.


After ten, go for girl you were going to anyways.

And if you say the girl you were going to ask was in the top 10, I guarantee you that you can find better if you look harder.

lol my sister's friend got asked to prom by her BF putting a picture of him with a sign saying "PROM?" on it. She almost broke up with him that day because it brought too much attention to her. Like wtf?!?

i just got back from my journey....

got a whiteboard and wrote a bunch of random letters on it. in permanent marker, i mixed in the letters that spell out Prom with me??? and left an eraser and some jelly beans. i put it on her door step and texted her to check it, but she totally isn't at home so this won't be as legit as i thought it would be.... not like she'll say no because i did it when she wasn't home.

she said yes by putting a bunch of balloons in my room WHILE I WAS TAKING A NAP. all the balloons had little pieces of paper in them and confetti. some of the balloons had single words of a whole sentence in them so i had to pop them to get the whole message. i tried to let the air out easy, but on a few they just popped and confetti and shit went everywhere haha. it was cool though except i'm missing a word!!

asked someone to homecoming earlier this year by getting a shit ton of fortune cookies, taking the messages out of all 100 of them except one, where I replaced it with "Homecoming?"...she already had a date. le fuuu.

3 days before homecoming I decided to ask a friend. I got a lot of kit-kats, opened one with an x-acto knife (right under the flap works the best), put the message in, "I know it's late, but give me a break" (I am so good at awful puns) and re-closed it with scotch tape. And now I am that much better at doorbell ditching since her door was on the second story, the stairs were wet from rain, and there is pretty much no place to hide by her house.
