What the fuck do you say when your friend says they're going and (Try) and commit suicide for the second time?

Well, the thing is he says he's going to do it Monday, and I believe him on that..But I just have no IDEA what to say.

If hes planning it out ahead of time, chances are he wont do it. Until then, talk to him, listen to what he has to stay, and dont leave him. But most importantly, LISTEN TO HIM. He's obviously troubled and needs someone to talk to.

Listen to him, never leave him alone, and tell a trusted adult about it/call the suicide hotline. Don't leave him alone/tell him to just knock it off. I seriously hope he gets the help he needs, there is never a reason to kill yourself. I think it's the worst thing anyone could do, and I know the pain of having someone close commit suicide.

I've talked him out of it, (for now), but I'm going to stay with him for a few days.

I would recommend getting him to visit a doctor. if its his second time thinking about it then he could have a chemical imbalance in his brain. some medication might make a world of difference.

get adults (doctors) involved but don't tell him. you don't want to feel responsible if something happens

sadly people threaten to kill themselves to try and get attention to see if people care about them. show a lot of compassion and try to be with him all the time. chances are if he keeps threatening and sets a date he probably is not too serious about actually following through
