Anyone use Creatine?

It's that time again, couple months before beach season and holy fuck I need to get in shape. I just joined a gym and I'm wondering if Creatine will help me..

A) Gain Muscle
B) Tone
C) Burn Fat
D) Get those abs out of hiding

Creatine is not some magical steroid (Disclaimer: I know it isn't a steroid) that will get you huge. All it really does it help you retain water mass and that will make you bulkier. Don't be fooled, you need a strict diet, a sick routine and you need to work your ass off in the gym.

The thing is with creatine is it will get you big a lot faster, but withdrawl will cause you to lose it. Your body naturally produces small amounts, but when you start taking creatine, your body stops producing it and it's a lot harder to build muscle. Short term: i would choose creatine. Long term: whey protein. Just my 2 cents

i took creatine and after about 3 weeks my bench went up 30 lbs and my squat went up 50, but i didn't look any bigger and it definitely didn't "bring those abs out of hiding" its much more for building muscle and strength than toning

You are obviously a dumb bitch and you should probably consider cutting your self. Many people take 2 months on, two months off. You see, if you take it for a long time period with out breaks, you won't have any gains from it. Then i take 6 weeks off so the amount of creatine in my muscles settle back down to the natural level. Faggot.

some people think you have to cycle creatine, although others say you don't (you don't) others say you have to load creatine when you start (you don't) but i have never heard of cycling protein. thats the moronic part.

hey jackass, the fact that you said you cycle one of your macronutrients makes you a jackass.



Creatine- i highly recomend it if you want to gain strength, and high intensity endurance. Everyone who gives it a negative review hasnt used it, or hasnt used it correctly. It will increase water weight while on it, making your muscles look fuller, and you will lose some of that weight when you cycle off. But creatine helps build muscle by allowing you to lift heavier weights than normal for more reps than normal, which coupled with the right diet leads to faster muscle gains than normal.

Some people dont react to creatine, and it does nothing for them. However, for the vast majority, creatine works wonders. If you want your top strength and endurance to increase in about a weeks time, try it out.




I dare anyone to show me literature that says that creatine supplementation is unhealthy.

How? haha. People do creatine many different ways (whether its no time off, 4 weeks off, 5 weeks off, etc) All im saying is that my way works, and its worked for ALOT of other people, your way may work too. Quit acting like there is only one way to workout.

no one has argued your use of creatine. we find fault in you cycling of a macronutrient that is VITAL to building muscle. Why would you deprive your body of THE macronutrient that builds muscle. Why dont you cycle water?

i understand cycleing your total calories, to avoid plateauing, but that is donw by lowering carb intake, not protein intake.

I took it for about 4months then stopped cause I had school shit

here is my take:

- First time i tried it i got fucked up because i was dehydrated, puked a lot. That may sound bad but i was VERY dehydrated and I never had anything close to that problem again, creatine fucks u if u don't have h2o in u


-After a few weeks using it i noticed my lifting went up dramatically, went from curling 30-40's( i can't lift a lot but it was amazing for me).

-I did notice my body got bigger, as in 4 months i went from 115-145 and i peaked at 150. Most of that was water weight,(i'm not that big of a person but creatine changed that, when i took it) I ate a shit ton too, thats actually the most important thing i found to gain .

- I went off it and lost about 20 pounds after 3-4 months and i'm maintaining that weight.

Majority of people i know who have taken it recommend it, most people who havent taken it have no idea about how it feels and are talking out of their ass and the 1 page they read on wiki. Try it, it's cheap and if u don't feel right with it drop it.

i used it when i was 15-16 and it worked really well for me. i gained 20 pounds in a summer but it took alot of work. i went to the gym 6 times a week on top of playing summer football. you have to take it in cycles so what i did was use it for 3 weeks, take a week off but you need to keep working just as hard if not harder. if you have the work ethic, go for it but if not dont. you also should take lots of protein and eat lots of fruits and vegetables

This guys knows what he's talking about. My dad is a natural bodybuilder and personal trainer and I've competed in figure competitions, lots of experience with creatine. You'll deplete a bit if you go off it, but it's a good addition to any supplements you're already taking for what you're looking for. And you don't HAVE to cycle.

yes, it will make your muscles swell, and you will put on muscle easier. You will notice a slight effect by just loading, but the main results will only come with working out. You should load up on it slowly for 2 weeks, after you have loaded up on it cut how much you take by like 75%. Taking any more is a waste of money and can be very hard on your body. After you take it you might feel sick which is normal. I recommend taking it with breakfast (no orange juice) and dinner. At the very least pound a glass of chocolate milk after you take it.

are you planning on planning on being a collegiate athlete? if you aren't than don't take it. its really unnecessary for what you are trying to do and it's gonna be a waste of money. just have a good protein filled diet, don't eat lots of shit food, maybe use whey protein supplements, and work really hard in the gym. if you want to gain lean muscle, low weight/ high reps, and mix some cardio into your workout too.

why not take something that will speed up results?

low weight high rep wont produce lean muscle, eating correctly will. High weight low rep will have the added benefit of an increased testosterone and GH response allowing you to grow quicker.



and pop quiz: why do you recommend whey protein over other forms of protein?

all creatine does is give you more energy to put in more reps, therefore, if you take creatine and do the same amount of reps you would if you were not taking creatine, your muscles would not magically become bigger than they would if you weren't taking it. he has every liberty to take creatine if he wants to, this is just my personal opinion. if he wants to dish out the dough to use it, then he can. also, i recommended whey protein because it is full of amino acids which are needed to build muscle, and it's a common form of protein supplement.

your logic is backwards. Creatine allows you to do 10 reps where before you could only do 5- allows more hypertrophy in the muscle leading to more growth. additionally, the increased ATP stores in the muscle help the muscle recover faster than normal, leading to a fuller more complete recovery in a shorter amount of time.

And my question to you was why do you suggest whey protein as opposed to egg, casein, or a blend?
