Sleep, this is getting fucked up

Got home from syracuse thursday night, super tired at like 5am. Went to bed. Slept till around 4pm ish. Couldn't sleep the next night, whatever it happens. Pumped that I was gonna sleep well the next night, didn't happen. I think that brings me to sunday or maybe I skipped aday. I really lost track of time. Drove an hour and a half to the mountain sunday morning dead tired. MC'd the contest. Survived off of energy drinks. Took a sweet fall, ended up going to the hospital to make sure my neck was still fucntioning. Drove home really slow scared I was gonna fall asleep at the wheel. Didn't fall asleep either when I got home, that was last night I think. Now It's monday night cause I played some poker with friends earlier. Still can't sleep. I layed down for a while at a couple points hoping that would some how charge the batteries. Maybe every hour you lay there is equivalent to like 5 min of real sleep or something? Idk



Sparknotes, haven't slept since I woke up friday afternoon. It's monday or tuesday, wtf.

I'm actually home on spring break now catching up on my sleep!

I understand his point, it sucks not being able to sleep for 5 days - try going a whole semester without it. It just makes me mad when people don't understand the stress/lack of sleep archies get and think we are joking.

But OP, take 2 benadryls, should knock ya right out

get some meletonin from a natural medicine place, you put some under your tongue and let them dissolve, it somehow put me to sleep when i had that problem. myne wasnt as severe but i was sleeping about an hour or two every night. this lasted for about a month until i got the meletonin and it fixed it. then after that i took some gravol and it fixed everything.

Thats weird, same exact thing happened to me a few months ago. It lasted about a month, tried ambien, that shit is fucked up, not sure if I recommend it. It felt like I was dreaming while I was awake the first time I took it. Lack of sleep is just something Humans have to deal with apparently, I didnt find a ton of info on how to get asleep. After awhile I did get a full body massage and that helped my body finally relax and I slept really well after that and things finally started to get back to normal.
Interestingly though, other people were having a similar problem with sleep and its interesting to hear about others experiences. One guy even said it may be related to Solar flares or something that just hits you and stays in your body and keeps you from sleeping hah.

I sleep between 2-4 hours a night for my entire life. I can go a week with pretty much no sleep and I doesn't affect me in the slightest.

Doctors and shit say there is something wrong with me and I have a problem, I sure as shit don't see it as a problem.

it just makes me mad when people like you try to make everyone understand "how much work we have to do, oh em gee, like fuck you OP for having an actual problem and asking for help, you're not allowed to until you get into my program." i dont think you're joking when you say you work a lot and have no time to sleep, i just genuinely dont give a fuck and it really amuses me how you actually think some people DO give a fuck. like shit, you want me to send you a box of cookies or something?

Maybe you should stop with the fucking hyperboles and state it how it is, but realize this: nobody outside of arch school gives 2 fucks about the workload. I doubt you have gone 3 days without sleep, let alone 5 consecutive days without sleep. That is Monday through Friday without shut eye. Lack of sleep isn't limited to you or other Mac wielding arch students. Insomnia is a whole different issue than workload, and the fact you couldn't separate that...

this, i honestly can't count how many times ive heard a math or arch major complain about their workload. i can't imagine how these people react to having a job..fucking broken records haha

As a civil engineer, i used to bitch, then realized that it just annoyed people, and it sounded like i was trying to tell people how much better i was than them...which wont win you any friends.

anyways, the job place is sooooo much less work than i had in school. its 7-4 pretty much everyday, maybe 7-6 on a busy day. But the great thing is that you still have weekends, and you still have time for leisure stuff after work.

Maybe you should try it too? The human body can't survive without sleep for more than 2 weeks, your internal organs will start shutting down and de-compsing so much you get blood poisoning.

Lack of sleep is a huge thing, definitely not to be taken lightly. In saying that though it is best not to take sleeping pills as most of them deprive you of REM sleep which is very important to restore the brain.

Gonna probably go to the doctor manana. It's been a strange week and a half. Slept for 2 or 3 hours on tuesday. I passed out for 2-4 hours hammered on thursday. Got around 4 hours last night. So at least I did get a little sleep in there. I def want to get scoped out so the problems don't get worse.



Had some really cool times though. Just got back from heavy pets tour. Was driving solo the whole time. Knew tons of people at every show though. Just did philly>brooklyn>delaware the last 3 nights. Was a little bit of a stuggle at some points, especially the drive from delaware to over an hour north of albany new york today. Overall it was def an experience I'll remember.

Lack of sleep sucks. I've run into that before with work/stress in the past. I'm talking about literally no sleep though. Like instead of not getting much sleep legitimately not sleeping at all for days.

Can't blaze at all anymore. Health/medical reasons. Almost 2 years since I had to completely stop for good. That's a different story though. But legit can't smoke at all

Yeah, I would guess it's really bad. Def going to the doctors tomorrow. My brains already been in a rough enough spot for the past couple years.

Probably wasn't the best idea to go driving hundreds and hundreds of miles to a bunch of shows but I really wanted to and I made it. Made it home safe today.

il add my two cents here, melatonin is great, helped me get the sleep i need. meditaion is great before bed too, especially when you can get into a good routine, going to bed the same time with meditation beforehand and getting up the same time. but routines dont always work in all cases, ie students with irregular schedules or people balancing several part time jobs. for me il always get into a good routine, then end up working out of town for a few months and throw my routine out of wack, back into poor sleep cycles i go

Can't blaze at all anymore. But I did the drunk thing a couple time. Thursday didn't have to drive to philly for the show or back to where I was staying. Just kept getting drunker and drunker. When we got back I was hammered but not throwing up on myself or unconscious so I pound a few more beers and def got at least 2 hours of sleep and a few hours of laying there.

Last night I got so drunk at an after party on campus I pissed myself :( But I got a solid 3-4 hours of sleep to be able to drive home today :)

Yeah hoping for no whammies. Been saying I was gonna go for almost a week. Figure it's about time to go even though I don't want to. Better to figure out what the fucks wrong now than wait any longer. Obviously it's not fixing itself on it's own. Drank 15 beers tonight really don't feel drunk. I have a slight buzz. I think my brains starting to dislike the lack of sleep.

dont be stupid and get some pills. You need to eat well and recharge your body. If yer going to all these shows are you doing a bunch of drugs?
