These accounts are from such an old horrible system... I'm curious to see if anyone still uses them.

Honestly its always one of those things that have frustrated me... we don't have control over the @newschoolers.com email domain - well not if we don't want to use the crappy system that it is run under anyways.

I'd love to just ditch that system, but I have no idea how many people use them. If people really love their accounts obviously we don't just want to rip it away... but if its hardly used then re-setting that whole thing would be awesome.

haha i use it! i have all my accounts registered under it haha, im not to religious about it though and i wouldnt be to upset if i had to delete it

i use my account sometimes and if you redo the whole thing please allow those of us who still have one and dont have to pay to keep our accounts in one way or another

This is what it boils down to. I set up an account about a decade ago. Then gmail came out, and I haven't used it since really.

i was raft@newschoolers for ever, although since getting a school email i havnt been back.



it sucks, i would say get rid of it. i mean i have to look at ads and click something before ever viewing my email. trash it.

I'm still looking into options... however it seems as though not a ton of people use it. I might do a check in the system of how many accounts are actually active.

I have a feeling that the company that did this is going to shut it down one of these days anyways, so it might be best to just choose to do it so none of us get any surprises.

I use mine sometimes and my facebook account was made with it. Anyway, the idea of having the email in the ns website, would be awesome I would be all over it.

i used mine for making porn website accounts, so all the junk would go to my ns email instead of my real email.

I used to use mine, it was more of a novelty thing though. If it had an interface that was more integrated with the actual site, I would use it all the time. Maybe have it under the 'Community' tab?

the concept sounds cool but i've never used and i don't think i'll ever start using it ...

a regular e-mail and a college e-mail address is already more than enough mailboxes for me to check ....

I tried to make an account. Got it finished, but when i tried to load my mail I gave up after 5 minutes of that little circle with the thing moving around it that indicates it's loading

Main problem being that in order to do this, we'll have to nuke the current email accounts and start over. We'll have to re-figure out if we can offer email support for users and assess if its cost effective.

I just really hate this... plus without using this system the staff can't have PROPER @newschoolers.com email addresses... which makes it really, really hard to do our work.

So what do you guys say, can we kill this system? Will you kill us if we do?

Kill it, and start a new. Use Google Apps. I think they have pretty high limits, and pretty reasonable prices. Plus, it is compatible with everything (Android, iPhones, Windows, Mac, Browser) so it will get used more.
