I've never understood why people with a grudge against religion feel the need to express it every chance they get, especially in a thread that is intended to revolve around a religious event. I don't go around looking for "sinners" and throw my opinion in there face so why do people need to feel the need to throw it in ours?

the whole idea is that once you give up something, every time you think about how you need or want that thing, it forces you to think about how Jesus sacrificed for you.

I really think that this is a topic that haters need to take it easy on. I wish there was more respect in this thread on both sides. To each his own.

Some people are Catholic or Orthodox, and practice Lenten things. Some people are atheist, some people are other religions that do not practice Lent. We all need to respect that.
