ill start it off simply by saying that dubstep has modulated bass and a much slower tempo while dnb uses various drum kits, usually little or no modulated bass and a much faster tempo
id say dubstep (i havent looked up this artist so idk and idc what they consider themselves). this is simply classifying by my own standards: its a slower tempo and there is plenty of modulated bass.
Dubstep till 1:38, tempo change, DNB till the end.
Most likely this song was produced for live sets. Bringing the speed up from 140 to 174 is a huge pain in the ass, why not just write a song that does it for you??
And just to make your head spin, here is a genre called Drumstep. Around the same speed as DNB, but with a dubstep feel, the 1,3 pattern.
Give your ear some time, you'll start to recognize the nuances after a while...
