Line Anthems Bending?
I was looking at some other threads on here and saw one about a fellow ns'er bending his octolands. has anyone else seen or herd of this problem? I'm 6'1" 190, there were saying he was possibly to heavy for the size of the ski he purchased? I have been looking into buying Anthems, and was wondering if anyone knew if the newer '10 anthems are built better or differently than the '09 octolands? I have been leaning towards purchasing the octolands but if they have the possibility of bending, i would get the '10s. Thanks, +k for helpful info.
There are no newer anthems.
Look into some Line Blends (183), I'm about your size (20 lbs lighter), I rocked a pair for a season, I did however, bend them after constant, constant nose buttering.
Skis can lose their shape and life after a season of hard riding.
I haven't had a ski last me more than a season an a half (if that) for a while now.
it happened to my invaders. they now look like they are rockered haha
Are those a mix between a snowboard and skis?
yeah i figured that would happen the skis i have now are beginning to soften up. once they do eventually fully bend will they still be usable of will i have to purchase a new set of skis?
with my blends, they softened up, and began to chatter a lot more. they were still usable. By the end of the season though, they were dead. No pop or anything like that left in them. It's a pretty unpleasent feeling to ski on something like that. So I bought a new set. Never thought of using the Blends.
Pretty much when they're dead, you retire them.
I don't know if I ski like a sissy or what but my anthems are still hood as ever after 2 seasons. I haven't had any problems losing pop on butters presses or anything of the sort. Oh yeah and I'm 5'11 160
It all depends on how aggressive you ski, how many times a season you ski, what kind of terrain it is that you ski, and how you use your ski.
In my case with my Blends, I'd consider myself a pretty aggressive skier, those 2 seasons ago (when I had the Blends), I skied a lot. I was in Grade 12 back then, didn't have the fullest schedule. So I was up at Kicking Horse a lot, along with travel. The terrain too effected it, it's Kicking Horse, I consider it a pretty steep and aggressive mountain if you know where to ski. Finally, I used the Blend for a Big Mountain ski, not it's strongest side since it's considered an All Mountain ski.
Hence, all the abuse from skiing on it aggressively, it lost it's life and pop.
Not just Line skis too, (the same season,) my friend had a pair of Salomon Czars, skis just like me (more aggressive than me now, I'm not skiing much this season). He's your size, but about 130lbs (maybe shorter). His skis were in the same condition as my Blends by the end of the season.
