Re: the article The Problem With Guys
I'm going to try to empathize here... *mmm empathy mmm* ... Nope, sorry. That failed.
This isn't against your skiing in the least. Personally, I think it's totally sick that there are chicks out there who are hucking threes. I know on a selected few who can do so and they I give them tons of respect.
I can't comment on the your particular scenario, because I wasn't there and the recollection always gets perverted in favour of whomever tells the story. But in general, dissing people on their skiing is pretty cruel, you should try to encourage and stoke out rather then criticize and demoralise. You're out there to have fun, why do otherwise?
People are at different ability levels with their skiing. Imagine if Gordy Peifer took you skiing in Alaska. I know I'd pussy out on some of the lines they go down. That's just knowing your limits and accepting you're not quite there yet. You must always push your limits, but slowly and progressively. Not by hazardous leaps and bounds.
Being a pussy is when you fail to push your limits whatsoever. You see the line, you think you could probably ski it, but you bow down to those persistent voices in your head. That's being a pussy. Being a pussy and bitching out is being a pussy and bitching out wether you're a guy or a girl. Being female is no excuse. Guys feel fear just as strongly as women do. We go out and do it anyways. Many women back up and use the scapegoat 'I've got tits' line. I don't care. Do it fucker.
As far as being female is concerned though... We men understand that women are different and need to be treated accordingly. But quite frankly, men in general just don't care. Get used to it.
And if you find one that does care (coz there are some) then hold on to him!
