I have worn my new full tilt hot doggers by twall 4 times since last friday when i got them. The first time i wore them they hurt really bad so i got them heat molded and they felt great the next two time i wore them. Yesterday however i wore them and got the worst shin bang of my life, causing me to miss out on a beautiful day of skiing today (:(). Is this just part of the breaking in process or what?
Make sure your liners are in correctly...and I stop landing/riding heavily backseat!
Would it help if i moved my shell to a more forward lean??
would you lean forward more?
You have to remember to keep your knees over your toes when skiing...kinda a fundamental part of skiing that is missed by many. Do yourself and stop trying to afterbang everything by just leaning back, you still have to keep your knees over your toes when you do it, once you figure this out you'll have a much more enjoyable time.
Sorry if I sound like a dick, but kinda a pet peeve of mine is watching kids in the park who don't really know how to ski (or at least look like it) and then hearing them complain about shinbang (cause they ride around backseat/straight upright 100% of the time) or about conditions (I've literally heard kids complain about powder at least 10 times this season while working the park...it's the best season for snowfall CT has ever seen and they want me to shovel the snow away from the rails all day and have the trail groomed....just sayin). I'm not saying you don't know how to ski, cause I don't know you, but it's most likely due to leaning back too much, and putting more forward lean would just make it worse cause you have to lean forward more...
no its cool i know how to ski. i was just wondering if putting more forward lean would help me stay more forward because im always landing backseat...
more back lean?
afterbang like the world depends on it
eewwouldnt that cause me ouldnt that cause me to naturally stand up more straightouldny
wow. stupid phone. wouldnt that cause me to stand more straight and backseat not forwards?
well...it does give you more room to lean back...which would in turn allow for a bit more movement while landing backseat so you won't be putting as much stress on your shins (shin bang is caused by your shinbones bending backwards slightly when you land backseat, so a more upright stance will alleviate some of that). However, this doesn't completely solve the problem, but will give you time to learn to land more forward with some room for error without shinbang...but I wouldn't recommend keeping it that way for long cause it will lead to bad habits.
Yeah that's what i thought. I put the 4mm things in instead of the 2mm. Thanks. Also does the tom wallisch cable cover cause them to not fit correctly? This is what people have told me. They say that it doesnt let the cables fit correctly on the tongue...
yes. it changes the way they flex.
I have the most fun.
my word of the day is the letter 6. - fujarome
Rule #32 : Enjoy the little things.
So take them off or is there any way to keep them on and get the natural flex?
take them off, noobdy cares how your boots look and if you're leaving the tongues flapping out of your pants and don't want to stop, you are an idiot.
"You retarded? The casg edit clearly says JACK BORLAND also who the fuck cares. There are really only 3 styles in the ski world these days: the max hill/ jossi tight pants leather jacket. The medium kinda Twall Thall and then The thugged out Bdog Edollo and the tricks that each do accordingly."
