Salomon sth 14 or sth 14 driver?

ok... I want to buy some sth 14 from Salomon... but someone told me to get the sth 14 driver instead of the normal ones... I looked up the difference and noticed that they are for extra wide skis....
but the skis I wanna buy are step ups (just 88 mm waist)..... so why get the drivers?...or should I just buy the normal ones?

The drivers consist of more metal, than the non drivers which are made mostly out of plastic. Therefore the drivers are going to be much more durable than the regular STH 14.

the sth 14 driver is the same binding as the sth 16 just without the heavier spring with higher din. it will be way more durable than the regular sth 14 - which has the shitty toe peice.

driver toe piece has much better retention and consistent release. adjustability on it is much higher, with manual wing height adjustment instead of auto-adjusting wings.

sth14 driver is a much better binding, and worth the few extra bucks. if you don't need the 16 din (which i'm guessing you don't) get the 14s. the driver toe has been around forever, and most certainly not just for wider waisted skis.

I paid 33% more to get sth12 drivers over the non-drivers. The single-pivot toe piece is solid. Best to spend more money to near-guarantee your bindings won't break

And you'll have better retention, since the toe piece is custom fitted to your boot, not spring loaded.

also atomic makes a binding that is identical to the sth 14, made in the same place, same parts, except its black and has atomic written on it. oh, and i got mine for around $100 less. check it out, but if you disagree thats up to you. just a suggestion

ive got the sth 14 drivers and they suck dick. the marker griffons are so much better. the salomons are always pre- releasing on me when i scissor my skis on rails and on landings. ive had them checked out and everythings right, theyre just shitty bindings.

Then you got them checked by a shitty tech. The driver is one of the best bindings on the market. Much better than the crappy marker griffon.

Wrong. Your toe height must not be adjusted right, or even forward pressure. Or they're just saving you from knee surgery.
