haha this is awesome. my dad got into DH racing way back in the 90s and got pretty good, even placed 3rd in nationals for his age group (expert class 50+ haha). but yea he has some photos from his 90s races, all the riders were wearing hockey pads, pretty funny stuff.

some of those guys must be fairly tough, those crashes looked pretty gnarly. pretty cool to see where the sport has evolved from!

wow i cant even imagine riding a rigid. every year in canmore i see a guy on a rigid bike at the xc canada cup race. hes pretty gnarly. but these riders all look brutal
