get a length that you're comfortable with, normally speaking people advice pole length so that your underarm is horizontal, at a 90°angle with your upperam when holding the pole upside down, just under the basket ...
in relation to this "ideal" length i usually go a bit shorter but it's all personal preference...
if you're gonna go with mini poles and look like a bender when pushing you might as well go for no poles at all ....
and yes, in general having a bit shorter poles looks sweeter on tricks, but learning how to keep your poles so they arent sticking out like little thunderbolts will help as well ....
that being said; one more thing about durability....
poles do break altough i've had mine for almost 4y now and they're not even bent or dented ....
(i use scott P4 model poles)
