Let's talk about some heavy music

Ok, so I was looking through the searchbar for some new metal bands and songs because I am in desperate need. There are some threads....but they're a little lacking and/or just too much.

Now, metalheads, I apologize and I do not mean to insult your definition of metal if you're somebody who defines it as Opeth, Black Dahlia Murder, Suicide Silence....etc.

My favorite band lately is Bullet For My Valentine. All of their albums are so sick, End of Days is my favorite song ever....I just want more stuff just like it and I need your help!!!

I know of Atreyu, Five Finger Death Punch, Killswitch Engage, In Flames, As I lay Dying, Escape the Fate, Haste the Day, Disturbed, I killed the prom queen, Devil Wears Prada...to name a few. Love them all, but I need more!!! Please help me out.

okay forgive me if any of these have already been mentioned, I think these bands are kinda the style your looking for

Scar Symmetry, Miss May I, After the Burial, Dark Tranquility. check out Attila also there a pretty interesting band.

If you like straight up death metal, listen to some Death, Necrophagist, Decapitated, Decrepit Birth, Brain Drill, illogicist, and viraemia to name a few.

and as far as breakdowns go Chelsea grin, and Suffokate have some of the best.

Let me now if you want any song recommendations also.

Dude Have Hearts last tour was so sick. It was one of the best shows I have ever been too. That and then 10 for 10 tour was the shit. This man is probably the only one on NS who knows what real hardcore is.

Anyway, if you want some melodic metal/hardcore go check out war of ages, as they are pretty sick. Stick to your guns is also some sick heavy hardcore/melodic deathcore-ish stuff.

Next point is that 80% of the music posted in this thread is lolnotmetal. REAL (on real cliffs, with real snow (as far as black metal goes)) metal bands here : http://www.metal-archives.com/

Everything there can be listed by genre.

And to the guy that posted above me: Death is probably one of the sickest bands ever, its a shame chuck passed away =(

Brain Drill also had the sickest drummer ever before they broke up, some of the most insane gravity blast beats ever. For those of you who dont know what those are :
