Mamiya C330 (TLR)

My photo teacher has one and I took some picture (of it) today. I'm very interested is shooting (with it) and was wondering if anyone actually has and would care to share any results. I have shot other Medium format stuff before, but I don't think it is Medium format (its 6x6cm) correct me if I'm wrong btw.

6x6 is medium format. I haven't shot with the c330, just Rolleiflexes, but I'm personally not a big fan of TLR's.

So my opinion on this is basically worthless. I'd say see if you can borrow it for a while and shoot a few rolls, then see if you like it.

That is sick. I do believe 6X6 is medium format territory, I am pretty sure about that, although I could be wrong I haven't shot medium in a while.

i commented on the flickr posting of this but wasn't sure if you knew what you were dealing with.
I used this camera for a month and loved it, some b&w stuff i did with it.

i wish i had the money to buy one, i'd love to have a TLR in my collection.

^Yea I have shot with one before as well, I used the meter on the camera and my negs came out lighhhtttttt

Probably going to shoot another reel soon

Use the spot meter if you can, and meter for your shadows. I usually overexpose negative film 1/2-1 stop.

on the TLR, or did you use a DSLR?

I meter with my DSLR every time I shoot on that thing, and I think I've gotten good exposures every time so far.

For sure use a spot meter if you can, though.

No, I used the meter on the TLR, thats why my negs were under exposed

I shoot with a yashicamat, all the square on my flickr is from it. I like shooting with tlrs, I've tried my brothers bronica with a prism finder and it's not as cool. As far as I've heard the c series are beastly cameras, huge and awesome. I'd certainly like to own one at some point. They are 6x6. The interchangeable lenses on tlr is unique to this system I think, ad they're pretty good pieces of glass from what I've seen.

And is that the porrofinder on there? What does that do, fix the image so it's not reversed left t right?

I think* its a prism finder, you can just look through the back of it and there is a viewfinder looking thing. I screwed that on top caus it looked cooler then the sight where you look straight down

Sorry I don't know the terminology for all this stuff
