So i was on Facebook and got a friends request from the guys called Board Side Down wax out of oregon..i hit them up and they seem dope and down to earth..now although i have never ordered a stick of wax, i ordered a stick and am waiting to recieve it! im super stoked

just thought it was cool to know that there are companys made for what we do and not just racing and all that!!

Im not trying to be a dick but even if it says race wax the goal is still to make you go faster and preserve your bases which goes for both racing and freeskiing.

i used one ball jay, its a board wax but lasts along time and is super fast, recently i won some k2 organic wax, its crazy hard and needs a metal scraper to remove but is like plastic and is so fast

We are a freestyle based wax company not on the fact of it makes you better at grinding, jumping  or makes you a better freestyle skier...

BoardSideDown was created to make waxing easier, with less hassle to work in almost all conditions for those days of being unsure to use cold or hot temp wax.  Our wax is an All Temp wax that we have been designing and re designing using new mixtures the wax game has seen before. Our wax is used all year long all around the country, we test our wax in hot summer days on Mt.Hood in Oregon and those well below freezing days in Colorado as well as those icy hard pack days on the East coast.

With that we created the Deodorant stick which holds are All Temp wax, which you can use to hot wax, or use for rub ons for the days you forget (or to hungover or tired)  to hot wax.

Swix makes some awesome wax, we make good wax that is more affordable with more quantity.


Words cannot explain wax prefrence, with wax all users need to test to see which they prefer just as any skis, boots, or bindings.

Some users like cheaper wax that gets them down the mountain, some like less hassle when waxing, and some like expensive wax that that is higher quality in smaller amounts.

Chief you are right on, with swix being expensive and being amazing wax, but you know why they charge so much?

Because they control 80% of the waxing market creating ALMOST a monoply(The exclusive possession or control of the supply or trade in a commodity or service) for wax. With that they have been able to up their profit percentages and sell their wax for a pretty outrageous price on some of their basic waxes.

From experience we can definitely tell you most wax companies can lower there prices by a hefty percent...

So I wouldn't necessarily base my entire reasoning on price of wax since other factors are in play, but you definitely are right some cheap wax does suck, as well as high priced wax is also very good.

For our wax, we have cut our profits down to sell our bulk bricks which are a 1/2 pound, about 2x's as much as any other wax company in that price range.

Why would we do that? Basically because we see the value that not everyone can afford to pay $15 for 3-4 hot waxes for average grade wax. So we offer our bricks for $8.95 for which are about 12-15 hot waxes.

We also have found ways to cut cost, For Example: ridiculous packaging, like big bulky plastic cases which are a pretty penny in the cost of wax (costs more then the wax it self). Which helps us greatly drop our price down for our bulk wax.

However we did not cut out the scents we offer razzzberry and strawburrrry currently :)

I was never really into waxing my skis all the time but I tried out the deodorant stick wax and I was super impressed at the difference it made in speed. No matter what the conditions are it helps ya get down the hill quicker. At 9 bucks a stick its really affordable too. Not to mention the deodorant stick is a genius idea, love it. Glad to see they are a super core company, too. Id much rather support them than swix

Swix is kind of specific temp wax, has 8 different temp range wax bars. Have been using it for a while, and it does the job. Surely you can see difference waxed and non waxed skis.

Grabbed some DATA wax bars, so could wax them skis every one ride - cheap to use, 600g (16 bars) - 24GBP.

If you are a racer, you might wanna stick to swix. If you want to preserve skis and ski faster, grab DATA.

no you do not, you buff the wax into the base while removing the excess wax with a structuring pad.

You only need to scrape wax off after hot waxing to get majority of the wax off the base of your skis.

Are you saying you scraped your skis after rubbing wax on them?

I would say just rub some wax over the skis again, then (if your using a BSD deodorant stick) use the structuring pad that is attached to the back of the stick and rub the base from the tip to tail with the grain of the ski (not in a circular motion).

should take about 30 seconds to a minute per ski

got the wax from BSD, not bad. my only gripe is the bar broke after  not even two swipes. a chunk just came falling out the deodorant style bar. i imagine its just a quality control issue.

ill get about 50% use out of it, not too happy but i didnt spend alot soooo.

Oh wow, that is odd for that to happen and that is our bad. Usually it happens if the wax cools to quickly and we try to catch any mess ups and pull them from the shipping line so customers do not get them, but we obviously missed one.

No problem lucas! Sorry about the dis-functional piece. My advice for what we do is just unscrew all the broken wax and use it for hot wax and use this new one for rub ons.

Also it will be shipped tomorrow, expect it by about friday-saturday.

What is the difference between the blue and red bulk wax that you sell other that the smell? And what is the makeup of youre bulk waxes, is it flourocarbon or hydrocarbon wax, or is it something differente ? You guys seem Like a superdown to earth company and i will deffinitly be buying a block or two for this year
