The parenting model talked about may provide good academic results, however I wouldn't trade the way I was raised for a bit better GPA. My parents were pretty liberal towards everything and I am thankful for how they did. I learned through trial and error the way I liked to learn and how I liked to learn. Grade wise I did poorly in high school, but I graduated from University with a 3.8 GPA.
If someone is taught this disciplinary model their entire lives, they will only know to perpetuate it onto their children. There is nothing wrong with working really hard and achieving results. That is respectable, but to be reprimanded and belittled all the time alters ones perception on life. It may make them very successful in terms of dollar and titlement worth, but it shapes a world in which we are dehumanized from positive emotions. What I meant to say is that optimism is crushed and individuality is destroyed. With everyone confirming to this model we wouldn't have the greatest musicians, artists, and individual thinkers of our time. We would merely have a repetitious body of people who can perform by the book and by the book only. Therefore, it would stunt one of the reasons for the past few hundred years of human innovation.
