Another backflip thread

so the jumps at my hill had just been rebuilt and i was having a really good night in the park. some boarders were doing rodeos and stuff so i thought i would sack up and do my first backy. i knew i had to commit so I did my best and just threw myself back off the jump. i tried to hold it to make sure i at least got most of the rotation but then i just got all loose after about 210 degrees. I ate shit. somehow i landed on my lower rightside back which is really bruised and my upper back ribs on my left side feel kinda broken. I obviously wont be skiing for a week or two but im wondering what could i have done to not die or advice for next time. also if anybody knows anything about mending back ribs that would be appreciated too.

wait so did you overrotate? My only suggestion would be to try it on a "controlled" jump, so to speak, either one you built or one that has a nice powdery landing. That way, you don't get fucked up as easily.

^ ya can you do them on a trampoline? good place to start i think, never tried one on a jump but i do them on the trampoline. Kinda want to try them on jumps but a little hesitant cuz of stories like this one.

yeah I have no access to trampolines and im in southern ontario so theres no place to build a jump into pow or anything

Okay, okay... but some legit advice. This sounds odd but it's going to work. When you go off the jump throw your arms up, then bring your knees UP to your arms and grab them. Throwing your arms up is going to start the rotation, and grabbing your knees is going to allow you to stay tucked up and keep rotating. When you spot your landing let go of your knees.

don't listen to any one. they are all lying . i have the best advice ever. theirs this magical thing that the top of the website. its like this dark grey/black box. when you click on it a flashing line pops up. you then enter some code that you can insert by using what pros call a "keyboard" no one knows what these character of some sort mean but they work. then there's this button that says search. if you click that you will gain access to the universe of newschoolers. its ok a ton of new people do the same thing. they just havnt learned the ways of the SEARCHBAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
