I saw that promo video earlier today. what do you do when you get to the top of a gnar line? point it with that thing in tow? don't think so. but I would still rock one if someone let me borrow it :)
other retarded inventions:
-long shapeless race skis slighly modified for big mountain, powder, beginners and freestyle
-computer chip lights K2 made in late 90's that were supposed to dampen vibration
-salomon pulse binding (also from the 90's) that added serious weight by putting a pointless contraption between toe and heel piece.
-rear entry boots
...I've seen wooden skis in antique shops that were all made for purpose, some long, some wide, serious rocker, some short. it really gets me that it has taken us so long to figure out how to make a diverse quiver to slay the mountain.
(I'm ready for a can of worms from my telemarking remark)
tryin to find a pic, must be so old and sucky they arent even on the internet, but those big plastic bricks that you could open up and place your skis and poles in, had the handle, and were impossible to store. Insta-gaper alert
Dude chips still exist in head skis. The kinetic energy makes your ski stiffer (due to some stringers through your ski) and head further improves this by putting a chip which can control this energy. The more you know.
Oh man, what were those 'snow glide' things on the net a few years ago?? They were made by some gaper called Bryan who had a shitty as website, and I think he'd gotten really abusive towards some NSers.

sx9 is a ski boot, rear entry and more flex than a full tilt. this old guy on the bus still shreds them, said they were the most legit freestyle boot he ever rode, inlcuding the 1970 raichele design (FT)
sometimes what is thought to be stupid, is just not comprehend-able by the publics simple mind, average skier.
yeah I know most skis have a wood core. When I said wooden skis in antique shops, I mean complete wood skis, nothing else such as ptex, fiberglass... I was complementing these skis of past as being shaped for purpose, something skiing culture forgot about for at least 50 years.
Dude telemarking pretty much started our sport. It's one of the most fun ways to ski pow. I downhill, telemark and snowboard and telemarking is by far the most fun for backcountry.
On the other hand i would much rather downhill inbouds, it's a little harder to go hucking on telemarking gear.
I hope Like a Lion can really change people's opinions on Tanner forever. I'll admit that I used to think Tanner was some idiotic asshole who didn't know how to act, but he's just another person with highs and lows like anyone else. Mad vibes and prayers to Tanner, skiing loves you just as much as you love skiing
