Just to let people know, tilt shift a photogaphic technique where the photographer will attach a special lens to a camera. Said lens will create a fake depth of field that would usually only be obtained if one was looking at a miniature object. This then fools the eye into thinking that everything is smaller.

Cool. And that wasn't necessarily shot with a tilt shift lens. This is a similar video, where the tilt shift effect was applied in post.

Well.

The Sand Pit video was shot without any tilt-shift lenses. So yeah, somebody can get the effect that good in post.

Ken Rockwell has opinions on things that sound moronic to you, or other photographers, but he knows a lot more about photography and photo gear than anyone on this site does. That page does a fine job of explaining what tilt-shift lenses are, and what they are meant to be used for, and what they can be used for.
